Stroke Screenings at JMHS on Monday, April 18

StrokeAs we age, most of us begin to accumulate plaque in the arteries of our body.  Some of us accumulate this plaque more quickly than others, usually for a number of reasons.  Our cholesterol levels may be high, we may be overweight, our blood pressure may be higher than we would like, maybe we smoke, maybe heart disease runs in our family, or we don’t exercise enough……..we all mean to change for the better, but it is hard to do.

The best way to avoid these potentially life-threatening events is to get a Stroke Screening every year or two.  You should get a Stroke Screening if you are over 40, and have any of the following risk factors:

  • Over 40 years of age
  • Overweight
  • Heart Disease
  • High Cholesterol
  • Irregular Heart Beat
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Smoking (past or current)
  • Diabetes
  • Inactive Lifestyle
  • Family History

On Monday, April 18 Screening America will be here to provide Stroke Screening Testings. Spots are limited sign up today! 320.769.4323 ext. 2194

This screening looks at build-up of fatty plaque in the arteries of the neck (carotid arteries) that may lead to stroke.
This screening looks at bulging in the wall of the main artery in the abdomen that may rupture if not detected. Less than 40% of individuals survive a ruptured aneurysm.
This screening looks for blockage in the leg and arteries that may cause leg pain.
A limited ECG is performed to detect an abnormal heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation. The risk of stroke increases five times for those individuals with atrial fibrillation.ALL FOUR TESTS ONLY $139
