“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” William Arthur Ward. This saying is one that I fondly remember from years ago in my college Philosophy class. I remember discussing how we tried quantifying the value of feelings, expressions, or emotional reactions and their effect on people. We came across this quote which seemed to simplify the complicated. Words of gratitude not spoken, smiles not shared, or kindness not demonstrated are all representatives of gifts that have been left unopened. I do not want to be that person that does not outwardly express my appreciation, so here are a few expressions of gratitude for the many people that thus far impacted my experience at JMHS and the Dawson Community.
Thank you to EACH member of our JMHS healthcare team, your gifts you share each day make a HUGE difference to me and others. Thank you to the families of our JMHS workforce you sharing your loved ones with us so they may care for others. Thank you to our City Leaders for helping to create a place where we can do business and enjoy modern conveniences. Thank you to everyone who is part of the Education System in Dawson and the surrounding communities. You provide the learning environment that fosters the workers and leaders of tomorrow. Thank you to our Faith Communities for giving us hope, reaching out in kindness, and providing us with gathering spaces to worship. Thank you to our JMHS Foundation and each civic group that works to raise funds for organizations that provide services and support to our community. Thank you to my family, both near and far, for helping me in many ways. My gratitude list could go on for pages, but perhaps I will continue another day. Until then, I hope you receive these unwrapped gifts of gratitude with sincerity and hopefully re-gift them to another.
