Last Friday, we celebrated National Caregivers Day. This day was set aside to honor those who provide care to another person. We are VERY grateful for all of the services our caregivers provide. I sometimes wonder how many steps or miles our caregivers put in daily. I typically average around 8,000 steps just moving throughout our facility. Still, I am sure many of our other employees reach 10,000-20,000 in one day. One of our caregivers once told me that they need to replace their work footwear at least every six months and that mileage adds up when you are caregiving. If you are a person that appreciates walking a mile in their shoes, we have positions open to join our JMHS caregiving team. Or, if you’d like to challenge yourself to get some extra steps, the River Valley Health Network is sponsoring a walk 100 miles in 100 days challenge beginning March 1st. Thank you to all of our Care Givers; you certainly put a lot of spring in our steps!
