This past Monday, we had the opportunity to honor those that sacrificed so much for our country’s Freedom. As the late Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” My father-in-law and my stepson both have and are serving our country like many of your friends and family. They remind me of what it means this Memorial Day.
There are those that serve that do not come home to their loved ones. They also believe that our country is worth fighting for, and however imperfect we may be at times, there are many things that we must stand together on. Some of us have never felt the deep loss of losing a service member, but we extend our heartfelt sympathies and gratitude to those who have. May we never forget that Freedom is not free. Thank you to all of the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our country.
