As I look out my window, the construction crew is putting the roof on the new care center’s Town Center! So much progress has been made since this project began in November 2016, less than 10 months ago. If you haven’t had a chance to drive by Chestnut Street yet, please do so. Much of the siding is up, the windows are in, and the vision of the new care center is really taking shape. This upcoming month, work will continue in the following areas in the new care center: plumbing and shingling the CC Town Center, concrete, the link connecting the Town Center to the Hospital/Clinic, priming the CC elder rooms, and installing tile in the showers. The construction crew will be concurrently working on the Hospital Surgical Suite addition, which the plan is to have it fully enclosed by the end of September to mid-October.
The great news is that we are on schedule to meet the target date of Spring 2018 for completion of both the new Care Center and the Hospital Surgery Suite Addition! The JMHS internal steering committee and departments continue to finalize finishes with our architects, as well as preparing for upcoming operational changes.
