Rain Fails to Dampen Spirits at JMHS and JM Foundation’s Color Run/Walk
Despite the rainy weather, 77 enthusiastic participants turned out on Saturday, June 28, for the Riverfest Color Run/Walk. This vibrant community event is proudly sponsored by Johnson Memorial Health Services (JMHS) and the JM Foundation.
The event offered participants the choice of a 5K run or a 1.5-mile walk, both beginning and ending in front of the Dawson City Building, where registration also took place. The inclement weather did little to deter the spirited crowd, who embraced the colorful challenge. Walkers were joyfully doused with color three times along their route, while runners experienced six exhilarating color stations, ensuring a truly colorful finish.
“We were absolutely thrilled with the turnout and the incredible energy, even with the rain,” said Jen Erdmann, JMHS Chief Clinical Officer. “It was inspiring to see so many community members, including our own staff, come together for a fun activity.”
The event’s success was made possible by 30 JMHS staff and family volunteers. Their efforts, from managing registration to manning the color stations, were instrumental in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Participation in the event cost $20, and each registrant received an exclusive event t-shirt. The Color Run/Walk served as a wonderful opportunity to promote community wellness and highlight the strong collaborative spirit between JMHS, the JM Foundation, and the Dawson community.
