As a healthcare organization, we have many ways to measure the quality of our services. Since the perception of quality may differ from individual to individual, there are ways to seek further information on the quality of services provided through various resources. The Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services (CMS) and the State of Minnesota have a star rating system for long-term care and assisted living services. CMS also has a way for hospitals to report quality through the HCAP system and clinics through care compare. The Minnesota community measures through the Minnesota Department of Health also provides publicly reported data on quality items. As I mentioned, there are many ways to seek resources on the quality of a healthcare organization or service. At JMHS, we have ongoing quality initiatives and activities.
