Johnson Memorial Health Services (JMHS) is proud to announce it has been named a Minnesota Star Tribune Top 200 Workplace for 2026, placing the organization among the highest-ranked employers in Minnesota.
The recognition is based entirely on employee feedback collected through a confidential workplace survey administered by Energage, the employee engagement partner behind the Top Workplaces program. The survey evaluates organizations on key aspects of workplace culture, including employee engagement, organizational alignment, leadership, communication, growth opportunities, and workplace satisfaction.
In addition to being recognized as a Top 200 Workplace, JMHS also earned eight specialty culture awards:
- Innovation Top Workplaces

- Appreciation Top Workplaces
- Work-Life Flexibility Top Workplaces
- Employee Well-Being Top Workplaces
- Professional Development Top Workplaces
- Compensation & Benefits Top Workplaces
- Purpose & Values Top Workplaces
- Healthcare Top Workplaces
“We are incredibly honored to receive these recognitions, especially because they come directly from the voices of our employees,” said Jake Redepenning, Chief Executive Officer of Johnson Memorial Health Services. “Every day, our team members demonstrate extraordinary dedication to caring for our patients, residents, families, and communities. These awards reflect the culture they have helped create, one built on teamwork, compassion, innovation, and a shared commitment to serving others.”

More than 10,527 organizations across Minnesota were invited to participate in the 2026 Top Workplaces program, with over 183,408 employees surveyed. At JMHS, 121 employees participated in the survey and provided feedback about their experiences working within the organization.
The survey results revealed a common theme: employees feel connected to both their coworkers and the mission of serving the community.
One Nursing Home Nursing Department employee shared:
“I feel supported and respected by my supervisors and my team. I am allowed and encouraged to do my job to the best of my abilities. I feel heard when I voice concerns. At the end of the day, I feel I have made a difference in people’s quality of life and know I will be welcomed back the next day!”
Another employee highlighted the organization’s commitment to community, stating:
“I have many friends and family at JMHS. I love my community, and we have a strong purpose to keep our community well and cared for.”
Employees also emphasized the culture of teamwork and belonging that exists throughout the organization.
“We have one big family at JMHS. We care for our patients and we care about each other. We follow our mission, hold each other accountable, and strive for greatness,” one employee wrote.
Others spoke to the meaningful impact of their work:
“I do meaningful and fulfilling work and feel like I’m contributing to the greater good in our community. So proud to be a part of an organization that truly gives back to our community and is invested in making it a better place.”
These comments reflect the values that have long guided JMHS: putting people first, supporting one another, and remaining committed to providing exceptional care close to home.
“This recognition belongs to every member of the JMHS team,” Redepenning added. “Healthcare is ultimately about people. Our employees are the reason our patients, residents, and families receive outstanding care, and they are the reason JMHS continues to thrive. We are grateful for their dedication and proud that they view JMHS as a place where they can grow, contribute, and make a meaningful difference.”
