Johnson Memorial Health Services was extremely pleased at the large turnout for their first Lunch and Learn: Keeping Healthy and Fit Over 50. Over 40 people joined us on Wednesday, January 29 in the Community Room.
Those in attendance learned from our Physical Therapist (PT), Bonnie Will the important role that exercise plays in our everyday lives. Especially as we age. In addition she provided tips and ideas to improve strength and balance.
Occupational Therapist (OT), Jeanie Stockland presented on the importance of keeping your brain active. She provided tips and strategies for improving your memory. She also explained why it is so important for your brain health to remain social and active as we age.
Booth Bonnie and Jeanie handed out take home sheets with tips and ideas to improve our overall health. Soup, Sandwiches, cookies, coffee and water was served.
If you are concerned about your memory or about your strength and balance please contact our rehabilitation department at 320-312-2128. Both Bonnie and Jeanie have simple tests they can perform to determine if you have an issue that needs to be addressed.
