
Johnson Memorial Health Services (JMHS) held its fourth annual Golf Fore! Health Tournament on June 15 at the Dawson Golf Course. The best ball, four-person scramble, had fifty-two participants. The 2022 tournament champions won $400.00; the winning team included Shawn Sumner, Ryan Sumner, Allison Schmidt, and Shawn Zoolner. The raffle prize for the 35 can Yeti Tundra cooler was also drawn. The winner was Preston Snobl.
Through sponsorships and golfers, the tournament raised just over $7,000. This year’s proceeds go towards the Dawson-Boyd Dr. Maus Scholarship and purchasing an ultrasound for JMHS. This year, the JMHS Foundation is raising funds to bring ultrasound services in-house. JMHS received a $40,000 grant and must raise an additional $60,000 to complete the project.
The Dr. Maus scholarship is awarded annually to Dawson-Boyd graduates and alumni pursuing careers in healthcare. To date, the scholarship fund has provided over $67,000 in Scholarships! This year $1,000.00 scholarships were awarded to Collen Swedzinski – Biology and Elly Stratmoen – Nursing.
Hole prize winners received $25 in Dawson Chamber Bucks and include: Longest Drive (M) – Ryan Sumner; Longest Putt (M) – John Randall; Longest Putt – Sadie Enberg; Closest to the Gnome – Kris Kuechenmeister; Closest to the pin 2nd shot – Scott Ochsendorf; Longest Drive (W) – Mary Bothun; Longest Putt (w) – Angel Molden. Team Best Selfie went to Keegon Wicht, Aiden Swenson, Brayson Bioke, and Drew Hjelmeland The $50.00 Early Bird registration winner was KLQP FM radio.
