JM Foundation held its annual Gala Fundraiser to its largest crowd to date on Friday, April 13 at the Dawson VFW. The evening began at 6:00 pm. Guest turned in their Gala tickets for drink tickets and were encourage to check out the silent and live auction items.
The evening menu included a wonderful salad served family style at the table along with the edible table decorations that included both white and red grapes and French bread loafs. Thank you to Tim’s Food Pride for helping us locate the wonderful grapes and the Scandi Girls out of Appleton for donating all the bread. CJ Mikes catered the buffet meal which featured three kinds of pasta noodles, Alfredo and Marinara sauces, chicken breasts and Italian meatballs. In addition 300 different mini cupcakes were served from KnK Kupcakes located in Canby. The meal received rave reviews!
This year the JM Foundation added a wine pull to the event. Board members were pleased to have 48 different kinds of wine donated for the event. For $20 those in attendance could pick a cork. The wine cork had a number on it that corresponded with a bottle of wine. They then got to take that bottle of wine home to enjoy. Two bottles of wine had $50 in Dawson Chamber Bucks attached to them. Sue Roisen was at the wine pull to help answer any questions people might have about the wine they received or just wine questions in general. All 48 bottles were sold! Thank you to everyone who donated and purchased a bottle!
Following the dinner the live auction began. This year the live auction featured a beautiful Minnesota wines themed basket, wine tasting and tickets for four to the “Beatles 5 Revolution” tribute band at Glacial Ridge Winery and finally a basket that included an overnight stay at a Marriott hotel and travel items to go with it. Thank you to Doug Peterson who made the live auction “lively” as usual.
At the end of the evening, the silent auction basket winners were announced and the crowd was thanked for attending the evening. All proceeds of this event go towards creating a pediatric room in the hospital.
Said Kristyn Wicht JM Foundation Development, “We were extremely pleased with how well the evening went. Everyone seemed to have a great time and enjoyed the more relaxed atmosphere. It is so great to have the community support for such a worthy cause.”
