I joked to my family that I feared I had jinxed our holiday weather last weekend by writing about winter driving. While I realize that weather is beyond our control, how we respond to it is. Dedication is defined as “a feeling of very strong support for or loyalty to someone or something.” There are many great examples of dedication from our JMHS employees when the winter storm hit last Thursday. I wanted to share a few with you, so they know how appreciated their dedication was to JMHS and our patients, residents, tenants, and the community.
- Lab, Radiology, and Nursing (Senior Services and Hospital) all stayed at the facility for 3 nights to ensure that our services would have adequate coverage.
- Our maintenance staff worked tirelessly to clear the snow off our sidewalks, parking lots, and roads surrounding JMHS.
- We had several staff members help in areas not within their normal work assignments to ensure that certain service levels were maintained.
- Both staff and managers brought in meals for those working extra.
These are just some of the stories that warm my heart and make us all grateful for this level of dedication in our healthcare community. Our mission is “To provide High-Quality, Compassionate Healthcare, Close to Home,” and our JMHS family dedicated to our community made that possible even during the winter storm.
