Care Center
“I like living here. There are a few new people I have met, but for the most part I already knew most of the people here. My roommate, Betty, was a friend from high school, and I went to country school with Reuben. A few of my neighbors were also neighbors when I lived on the farm. I like all the different activities we get to try. I really enjoy the old-time music.”

Weight Loss
“Dr. Virji said have you considered weight loss and I said yeah, definitely and he said well I have a plan and I said, I’m in. Let’s do it. My wife has a copy of his book. Having a diet book is one thing having guidance is another thing. The first thing Dr. Virji told me about his diet when we started was that you don’t have to count anything. But he had guidelines. He had what I can eat, how much of I can eat, and what I can not eat. He said you are going to lose about 6-8 lbs a month. I said that’s perfect. That’s not quick, that’s how it should be. I was down 70 lbs in a period of about a year. Eight inches on the waist and two shirt sizes. Without a doubt the most successful diet I have ever been on.”

“I lost over 100 lbs on the 6-Step Weight Loss Diet. It is very easy to follow and understand. I have more energy, my feet don’t hurt and I no longer have arthritis in my knees.”

Pediatrics
“My kids like Dr. Grong because he tells funny stories. I like him because he takes the time to really listen to both me and my children.Dr. Larry Grong is an extremely knowledgeable doctor. I appreciate that he is not ashamed to ask for advice or have his patients get a second opinion. I love that he has late appointment times two evenings during the week. It makes well child appointments more convenient, especially for a family of 6! He is a great doctor for both kids and their parents.”

Chronic Care Management
“I was referred to the Chronic Care Management program because I have multiple things going on. Diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, a cancer survivor, just multiple things going on with multiple specialists. It is great to have someone to coordinate it all. Amanda is very good to go through everything. You can tell she is looking at her notes, she is referring back to what should we be talking about now and yet is very social about everything. She is very encouraging. Nothing is neglected and if you are going to have continuity of care, that is what you need. I have several friends that are taking advantage of the Chronic Care Management Program and they too are speaking highly of it. I think it is a fantastic program.”

Senior Fit Wellness
When Robert entered the Care Center in January of 2016 he was unable to walk from his room to the Rehab (exercise) room. Today Robert walks 3 miles a day and is an inspiration to us all. Roberts love of walking can be felt through this short video, which was originally created for a grant. Thanks for sharing your story with us Robert!
