Speech Therapy

Speech-Language Pathologists are involved in the assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Speech therapists evaluate an individual’s communication or swallowing skills and then set up an appropriate treatment plan.

Disorders commonly seen by Speech Language Pathologists include:

Strokes
Pneumonia
Dementia of all types
Voice disorders (e.g. vocal hoarseness, nodules)
Progressive neurological diseases (Parkinson’s disease, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis)

Scheduling is done through the Physical Therapy Department.
