JMHS Senior Living Residents Enjoy a Day of Fishing on Lac qui Parle Lake
Five residents and tenants from Johnson Memorial Health Services (JMHS) Senior Living community spent a peaceful afternoon on Lac qui Parle Lake on July 24, thanks to the generosity and coordination of the Tri County Fishing Club and the Let’s Go Fishing organization.
The outing was part of Let’s Go Fishing’s mission to enrich the lives of older adults through outdoor experiences. With the help of dedicated volunteers, residents had the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing fishing trip filled with sunshine, scenic views, and good conversation.
“This outing gave our residents a chance to get out on the water, reconnect with nature, and simply enjoy the moment,” said Lisa DuFrane, JMHS Activities Manager. “We are so grateful to the Tri-County Fishing Club for creating such a meaningful experience.”
Let’s Go Fishing is a nonprofit organization that serves older adults, veterans, and individuals with disabilities throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin by offering safe and accessible outdoor excursions. The Tri-County Chapter continues to make a strong local impact by hosting trips like this one.
The JMHS Activities Team, which coordinated the trip, is already planning a second outing: a pontoon ride in August.
“These experiences make a big difference in the lives of our residents and tenants,” said DuFrane. “They promote social connection, reduce isolation, and most importantly, bring joy.”
