The Providence Township donated $10,000 to the JMHS Foundations Caring for our Community campaign. Providence Township is one of the seven townships located in the Dawson Area Hospital District. Following a presentation from Ken Club, JMHS Foundation Major Gifts Chair and Kris Bach, Providence Hospital Board Representative, the Providence Township Board approved the large donation.
Amanda Bartunek, Providence Township Clerk said “Providence takes pride in supporting projects that help our community to grow. We have supported numerous other community projects and felt that the new care center is something that will benefit not only the residents of Providence but the entire community.”
The JMHS Foundation’s Caring for the Community fundraising campaign was created to ensure the new, $16.5 million dollar, Care Center is built to its greatest potential. The new facility features 56 private rooms with attached private handicapped accessible bathrooms that include a shower. It addresses infrastructure and compliance issues as well as changing expectations to accommodate future residents.
The JMHS Foundation set an ambitious, $1.4 million dollar, fundraising goal for the campaign. They recently announced they are nearing that goal with pledges and donations of $1.195 million to date.
