Ladies Night Out Brings Community Together for an Evening of Health, Inspiration, and Fun
Over 130 women gathered at Hilltop Bar and Grill on Thursday, October 23, for Johnson Memorial Health Services’ annual Ladies Night Out. This year’s free event embraced a vibrant tropical theme, offering guests a lively escape filled with laughter, learning, and local flavor.
The evening started at 6:00 p.m. with an engaging Q&A session with Dr. Lindsey Hanson, Family Medicine, and Anna Lewis, PMHNP, psychiatric nurse practitioner at JMHS. The candid discussion covered many women’s health topics, from menopause to mental wellness, providing attendees with expert insight and a safe space to ask questions.
At 6:30 p.m., keynote speaker Vineeta Sawkar, award-winning radio host and former television anchor, took the stage with her dynamic presentation, “The Worst They Can Say Is No!” Sharing her journey from career setbacks to reinvention, Vineeta inspired the audience to embrace rejection, pursue their passions, and say yes to life. Her empowering message echoed long after the applause ended, reminding guests of her powerful motto: “Get the ticket. Go to the event. See the friend. Take the trip. No regrets.”
In partnership with the Dawson Chamber of Commerce, the evening supported Get Festive, an initiative encouraging eventgoers to shop locally. Attendees received exclusive coupons and were entered into drawings for door prizes generously donated by Chamber businesses.
Guests were also encouraged to bring donations for the local food shelf, reinforcing the spirit of giving back that defines the JMHS community.
JMHS extends a heartfelt thank you to Hilltop Bar and Grill for hosting the event and providing the wonderful food, which included white chicken chili, hamburger chili, and breadsticks, and to Gnometown Grounds for the delicious cupcakes that sweetened the night.
“Ladies Night Out is one of our favorite annual traditions,” said Kristyn Wicht, Marketing and Communications Manager at JMHS. “It’s a way to celebrate women, promote health and wellbeing, and connect with our community in a fun, memorable way.”
