Kathy Johnson Honored with The Enduring Legacy Award From MHA

Johnson Memorial Health Services (JMHS) is proud to announce that Kathy Johnson was awarded The Enduring Legacy Award by the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) at their Annual Meeting last week. This prestigious honor recognizes extraordinary healthcare leaders who have made a significant impact on patient care and whose contributions resonate for years through the lives they have touched.
Johnson served as the CEO and Nursing Home Administrator of JMHS from 2007 to 2015 and returned as interim CEO in 2024. The JMHS Senior Leadership Team nominated her for this award, highlighting her passionate leadership and strategic insights, spanning over three decades, that have been instrumental in strengthening rural healthcare across Minnesota. The team also emphasized her exceptional ability to guide the organization through transformation while mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals.
The Enduring Legacy Award honors individuals whose influence has improved patient outcomes and strengthened the foundation of healthcare in their communities. Johnson’s selfless guidance and generosity have left a lasting mark on the lives of countless patients, residents, tenants, and staff.

During the annual meeting, MHA recognized over forty teams and individuals for their efforts to enhance the quality, safety, and innovation within Minnesota’s hospital and health systems, showcasing the dedication of healthcare workers across the state. Johnson was one of two recipients awarded the Enduring Legacy Award in 2025.
