Johnson Memorial Health Services’ 3rd Annual Golf Fore! Health tourney is Wednesday, August 4, at the Dawson Golf Course. The four-person scramble allows participants to golf 9 or 18 holes, turning in their best nine. Tee-off times are at 10:30 am or 1:30 pm, with a complimentary lunch served from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. The first-place prize is $400; however, the tourney provides several opportunities for participants to win prizes. There are prizes at each hole and a drawing for various prizes for participants.
The money raised from registration fees, sponsorships, and donations go towards the Dr. Maus Dawson-Boyd Community Scholarship Fund and purchase items and equipment to improve patient care at Johnson Memorial Health Services.
The Dr. Maus Dawson-Boyd Community Scholarship is awarded annually to Dawson-Boyd graduates pursuing careers in healthcare. Proceeds from this Fund have provided over $70,000 in Scholarships to DBHS Students & Alumni. This year $1,000 scholarships were awarded to Maddie Erdmann, Nursing; Elly Stratmoen, Nursing; and Jordan Hastad, Biology. A $500 scholarship was awarded to DBHS alumni Mary Bothun, Nursing.
JMHS is using the annual fundraiser to put a dental office in the Care Center. JMHS received a $50,000 grant from Delta Dental of Minnesota and must raise an additional $30,000 to complete the project. COVID-19 restrictions really highlighted the importance of providing dental services in-house.
Registrations are due Friday, July 30. Those who register by July 23 receive one free drink and a chance to win a $50 Visa Gift card. All participants also have a chance to win a 36” Blackstone Griddle.
