JM Foundation Hosts Successful Community Picnic
The Johnson Memorial (JM) Foundation’s 2025 Community Picnic brought together more than 240 guests on Wednesday, July 30, for an evening filled with fun, food, and community connection. The annual event featured activities for all ages, including bounce houses, outdoor games, live music, a viewing of emergency vehicles, and a free swim at the Dawson pool. Guests enjoyed a complimentary meal of brats, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, cookie, watermelon, and beverages.
A highlight of the evening was the popular bike and scooter giveaway. Congratulations to this year’s winners:
- Girls’ Bikes: Aspen Prisinger and Kami Herigon
- Boys’ Bikes: Weston Augeson and Bryce Citrowske
- Scooter: Wrenlee Augeson
The JM Foundation extends special thanks to Walmart of Montevideo and Marshall for donating the bikes and Scooter and to the Southwest Minnesota EMS Corp. for donating the bike helmets, which helped make the giveaways safe and fun for the winners.
The picnic also offered an opportunity to share exciting news about the Foundation’s current fundraising campaign, the Assisted Living Refresh Project, which has reached its halfway mark. This project will update and enhance the Assisted Living spaces to create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for tenants and their families.
“We are thrilled with the generosity shown so far,” said Saundra Snobl, JM Foundation & Grant Manager. “We are halfway to our goal but still need additional donations to complete the project. No matter the size, every gift brings us closer to creating the refreshed, inviting space our tenants deserve.”
The JM Foundation thanks all who attended, volunteered, and supported this event. Special thanks go to the Dawson Ambulance, Dawson Police, and Dawson Fire Department for bringing emergency vehicles for attendees to explore, and to the Bowtie Brass Band for providing fantastic live music throughout the evening.
