The new Surgical Suite at Johnson Memorial Health Services (JMHS) will be an excellent health care addition for our community. Advancements and new technology in surgical care have increased the demand for same-day/outpatient procedures. Also, JMHS is committed to bringing new and needed services to the area. The Surgical Suite will empower our staff to add hip and knee replacement surgeries to our continuum of care. Additionally, it will be equipped for a wide variety of surgical specialties including ENT Services, General Surgery, Gynecology, Pain Management, Podiatry, Opthalmology, Orthopedics, and Urology.
Focusing on the patient experience, the new Surgical Suite will offer improvements in patient privacy and safety. It will include private pre-op and post-op rooms as well as a private check-in area. An automated medication management system increases narcotics safety and reduces the risk of errors. New surgical sterilization equipment will increase efficiency and improve processes.
The New Surgical Suite features:
- A larger operating room (OR) designed to handle today’s modern technologies and more complex surgeries.
- A dedicated procedure room for minor procedures, eliminating the need to go to the operating room.
- 5 private pre-op and post-op rooms.
- New surgical sterilization equipment that will make for increased efficiencies.
- Private registration area for patient check-in.
Our new suite will allow us to utilize cutting-edge technology and give our surgeons the opportunity to provide the highest quality care in a private setting.
