JMHS Hosts Lunch & Learn to Review MyChart Features

Johnson Memorial Health Services (JMHS) welcomed staff and community members to a Lunch and Learn event on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, for a helpful review of the MyChart patient portal. Missy Struxness, JMHS Informatics Specialist and certified MyChart Trainer, led the session, which drew 12 attendees interested in learning how to make the most of the platform.

MyChart is a secure, user-friendly tool that allows patients to conveniently manage their healthcare online. MyChart is the most widely used patient portal in the U.S. and is used by major health systems, small hospitals, and clinics nationwide. During the session, Struxness provided a guided walkthrough of MyChart’s most popular features like secure messaging, test results, online bill pay, and telehealth and answered questions from attendees.

“Our goal with this session was to ensure that individuals feel confident using MyChart,” said Struxness. “It’s a powerful tool that makes it easier for patients to stay engaged in their care.”
