Pain interfered with my life—I work on a farm and ibuprofen could never touch the pain. When I got a good recommendation, that was enough for me even though I’d never done anything at the Dawson Clinic before. From surgery to PT, the care I received at Johnson Memorial couldn’t have been any better. Now I can do just about everything with no pain.

I was one of Johnson Memorial’s first Loop recorder cases. I had persistent symptoms – including fluttering, flushing, fatigue, and a racing heart – that hadn’t been accurately diagnosed before moving to Dawson. Dr. Ayaz Virji, Chief of Staff immediately saw that something was wrong. Just four weeks later, I had a loop recorder implanted. If it wasn’t for Dr. Virji not giving up and finding another cardiologist, I might not even be here.

My hip pain was so horrible that my partner wasn’t sleeping because I was tossing and turning and just miserable. Dr. Nwakama reviewed my x-rays and told me I needed a new hip. There were bone spurs, and it was literally bone on bone. After a short four week recovery time I was back at work. I sometimes still feel a slight twinge after using a Bobcat to move snow for a couple of hours. But now I can hit a volleyball around with my kids and run and jump without pain!
