What started as a vision for Karen Schuelke, Norma Powers, Laurel Silvernale and a few other volunteers has turned into a success beyond any of its founder’s expectations! In fact, since it’s opening, the Thrift Shop has raised over $480,000! That’s an average of $32,000 a year!
This amazing financial achievement was made possible thanks to all of the merchandise donated and purchased by this community. But the most significant factor in its success is the Thrift Shop Volunteers. Arlys Amundson has been managing the Thrift Shop for several years, she brought with her many years of retail experience. Without the commitment and endless hours of energy from our 30 wonderful volunteers the Thrift Shop would not be the success it is today.
Other than minor expenses, all of the almost half a million dollars has been pledged back to Johnson Memorial Health Services and the community to support its healthcare needs.
To celebrate this remarkable achievement, the Johnson Memorial Thrift Shop invites you to visit them on Tuesday August 12th to browse their many, many bargains as you enjoy a bag of popcorn and glass of lemonade!
The Thrift Shop is open for your shopping experience on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
