We have had great weather for the construction crew, and much progress has been made this past month. Along with progress comes some inconvenience. Specifically, road detours and parking… We’ve done our best to communicate to staff and the public, as changes occur sporadically at times and we are often at the mercy of the subcontractors’ schedules. Despite the challenges, we have relocated our main entrance to the Clinic/Hospital and the front JMHS canopy has been removed. We will be utilizing this new “Temporary Entrance” for the foreseeable future, until the new entrance and parking lot has been relocated to the new location on Locust Street by the golf course. Parking has also been a bit of a challenge, although everyone seems to be adapting very well. Please note that there is “Priority Parking” for those individuals that need extra assistance, located at the entrance to the left of the Emergency Entrance.
As for the status update on the new care center construction, the 2 neighborhood wings framing and roofing are almost complete. Shingling on 1 of the neighborhood wings is complete, and will begin on the 2nd neighborhood wing shortly. The basement excavation work has begun today! The concrete subcontractors will begin pouring the floors in the 1st neighborhood wing within the week as well. Lastly, the community and staff support of the JM Foundation’s “Caring for Our Community” campaign has been unbelievable and amazing! We are so fortunate to have such support.
