Progress on the Care Center continues… 100% of the windows are now installed on areas A, B, and C; 100% of roof shingles complete; 100% of the concrete is complete; 98% of the exterior siding is complete; the sprinkler system & electrical is in as well; plumbing and HVAC work substantially complete; interior painting complete in both neighborhoods (areas B & C) and roughly 25% complete in area A (Town Center area); flooring is about 75% complete in both neighborhoods and just starting in area A; underground utilities complete in areas A, B, and C; covered walkway between new Care Center and Assisted Living has concrete poured, walls are framed and dry walled. Resident room doors and carpet are being installed, as well as resident bathroom cabinets and fixtures. The 4 resident room ceiling lifts have been installed, which is really cool. Plans are in motion to install the LED lights, start on the casework, and arrange for moving the stained-glass windows over from the existing chapel to the new chapel. This is really going to be a special feature wall in the new chapel. The kitchen equipment has been delivered and is being installed. As you can see, much progress has been made this past month. Currently, the Care Center construction timeline indicates an April 2018 substantial completion date. We are also working with the MN Department of Health on a formal Relocation Plan, which is required before moving residents to a new physical location, even when that new location is only steps away. The staff is hard at work finalizing the furniture and equipment selections and ordering, as well as continuing to prepare for operational changes needing to occur to accommodate the “neighborhood concept”. Things are coming together and we couldn’t be more excited!
As far as the Hospital construction progress… 3 of the Hospital patient rooms have been updated, and the remodel work has begun on the next 2 patient rooms. The surgical suite foundation has been poured and underground utilities roughed in. Exterior walls complete & interior walls are steel-framed with hospital gas and some electricity/plumbing roughed in. The surgical suite completion timeline will be later this summer 2018.
Thanks to all the JMHS staff for continuing to meet the day-to-day demands of providing excellent healthcare, as we keep moving forward with our capital project!
