Healthcare Summer Camp
Explore a Future in Healthcare at the JMHS Summer Healthcare Career Camp!
Are you a high school student curious about healthcare careers? Whether you dream of becoming a doctor, nurse, EMT, or medical lab technologist, the JMHS Summer Healthcare Career Camp is the perfect place to start your journey!
Last year campers rotated through interactive sessions in clinical areas, including perioperative services, radiology, rehabilitation, and laboratory. Beyond the clinical setting, participants explored essential behind-the-scenes roles that help healthcare systems thrive, such as business office operations, materials management, human resources, environmental services, and fundraising through the JM Foundation. In the senior living setting, they participated in resident-centered activities and learned about compassionate, team-based care.
Last year attendees learned:
- Hands-on CPR and first aid training
- Proper suturing techniques with Dr. Shelstad & Dr. Hanson
- How to perform bedside Ultrasounds with Dr. Virji
- Educational pathways with North Memorial Air Care’s team
- “Stop the Bleed” training with the Dawson Ambulance
- How important Senior Living Activities are for Residents
You’ll develop valuable skills, make new friends, and maybe even discover your future career path, all while having fun!
