The Dawson Clinic is staffed by a board certified Family Practice Physician, three Family Nurse Practitioners and several nurses and technicians. Together they form a team of top-notch healthcare professionals dedicated to providing quality medical care to the hospital district.
Services provided at the clinic include disease management, prenatal, obstetric, pediatric, preventative, and injury care. Minor surgical procedures are also performed, including colposcopy, flex sigmoidscopy (colorectal cancer screening), and lesion removal. The practitioners welcome all ages of patients and enjoy getting to know the families in the area.
The clinic has 11 exam rooms, one procedure room, a centralized work station for the practitioners and their nursing staff, a lab drawing room with direct access to the laboratory, practitioner and clinic manager offices and a patient education room.
After hours, weekends and holiday emergency care coverage is provided by the clinic practitioners on a rotating basis through the hospital.
The Boyd Community Health Center, a satellite clinic of Johnson Memorial Health Services, is open Tuesday and Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon, and is staffed by JMHS medical practitioners. It has three exam rooms, lab, nurses’ station, waiting area, and two restrooms. All levels of acute care services will be offered, including physical exams, routine blood draws, and immunizations. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (320) 855-2290, Monday through Friday, during regular business hours. Walk-in appointments are also accepted during Boyd Clinic hours.
The healthcare center is a result of collaborative planning efforts between local organizations and state and federal agencies. Johnson Memorial Health Services, the City of Boyd, the Minnesota Department of Health, the United States Department of Agriculture, the Southwest Minnesota Foundation, and the Lac qui Parle Health Network were all involved inthe project.
